Tidbit Tuesdays!

I'm in a bit of a rush tonight- I have some sweatpants that are calling my name, as well as a frozen pizza that is begging to be baked off and a chair that craves my ass in its lap.  I must lounge!

Reading:
janeeyre
I picked up this Penguin Classic the other day at my local bookstore.  I've been lusting after these oh so sexy books, and now one in the series is mine!

Watching:

Would you let this guy near your kids?  What is Paul Rudd doing with his mouth?

This is just too cute- for all of you who made Resolutions this year!  Isn't a cute way to keep track?  I love her stuff and I'm pretty sure I'll be commissioning one of these for the top of my wedding cake!

Listening:

I listen to the Amelie soundtrack all the time, and still can't get enough of it!
The whole thing is wonderful- and surprisingly great driving music.

What are you Reading/Listening/Watching? I just love to hear what
other people can recommend in terms of books, magazines, music
and movies!

Tomorrow? More on the Lace Kal!!!

  1. Yeeeah I have the same classics copy of Jane Eyre. It's one of my favourite books ever and the binding is so stunning.

I'm re-reading The Principles of Uncertainty by Maira Kalman (a book I think I've mentioned before in your comments), which I love.

And I m terribly in love with this song, 2 birds by Mugison.

As a kid I was never a watcher of sesame street, but sometimes I hit up old school SS on youtube with my kids, Paul Simon and 70s breastfeeding and other random tidbits they find hugely fascinating that you just don't get on tv now.

  3. Unfortunately, the last thing I read was the current issue of Martha Stewart magazine. I really need to read books more. :) I just finished watching NCIS, and earlier was listening to Haunted by Poe. Love me some Poe!!!

  5. You got one of the books! Isn't it sooo pretty in person? I think we're kindered souls Kate; I adore Paul Rudd, Amelie is one of my favorite movies and I see Flight of the Conchords down there in your Netflix queue! Enjoy your pizza.

  7. That resolution tracker calendar is cool! Thanks for linking it.

I've been listening to high-energy stuff to stay psyched at work lately - Lady Gaga "Bad Romance", The Format If Work Permits and the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack.

I just finished reading The Knitting Sutra. Can't recommend it super highly, though.

  8. My books are still in boxes but I've had a hankering for Jane for a month or so and even asked for a copy for Christmas. I didn't get it (and, believe it or not, I haven't been able to find a second hand copy here in England) so I guess it's time to stop being lazy and dig through those boxes because your pretty copy has tipped me over the edge!

  9. Nothing like a good chair, fine knitting in our comfy clothes! I love the classics. I'm listening to "A Lion Among Men" - or whatever the title is for the 3rd Wicked book. I'm getting ready to read The Blind Side (after seeing the movie) and probably Mary Barton by Elizabeth Gaskell is in the queue for a Ravelry Group I'm in. I'm listening to the new Earth, Wind, and Fire - Greatest Hits CD my son bought me for Christmas!

  10. Beautiful copy of Jane Eyre! That's one of my favourite books. I am...
reading: Love in the Time of Cholera. (Brilliant. I just finished Her Fearful Symmetry which was NOT brilliant at all, I didn't think, so this is a very welcome change.)
    listening to: Radio 4.
watching: soon to be watching new Scrubs, yaaay :)

  11. Jane Eyre is one of my favorite books and that books looks SO pretty, too! I definitely am a sucker for pretty looking books.
Plus, I listen to the Amelie soundtrack pretty much several times a week for the past 2-3 years. My favorite soundtrack ever, hands down. Plus, a marvelous movie. Every time I heard that music, it just makes me incredibly happy, no matter how I feel.
As for what I'm currently reading/watching, I'm reading The Shadow of the Wind, which was HIGHLY recommended to me by at least 10 friends, so I'm really excited, and I've been watching The Office Season 2, ever since I discovered that it streams on Netflix on demand. And I've been listening to a lot of random classic rock interspersed with Bach's Brandenburg Concertos. I have really random tastes sometimes! Wow, now I want to listen to the Amelie soundtrack. I'm off to knitting club!
