I've been shopping, and boy am I happy with my purchases! You know how I have a thing about wanting to only buy fun things like yarn and books and other crafty things? Well, lets add furniture to the list of fun things to buy as of two days ago.
I am so in love with my new little table, it feels a little wrong. Every time I walk by it I just get so excited! I love the two-toned paint- the greens are perfect for me! I love the worn, chipped surface that makes me think that the previous owner really loved this table, and now it is mine to love!
I love the little shelf underneath, that now holds a basket of woolens, but in the summertime will hold cookbooks or maybe a potted plant or two. Or I could use it for a bowl of lovely fruit. Or maybe a nice bucket of gardening tools. I'm so in love with this table that even the little shelf excites me.
Question- am I a huge dork? Answer- Yes indeedy-o.
Did you see this tray in my giveaway post? I couldn't resist taking photographs of this little sweetie with yarn in it! I've been looking for a tray like this for a while now, but couldn't find one that was perfect. This one, my dear readers, is perfect. The shape and size are just what I was looking for. I love the side compartment, which will be perfect for knitting notions. I am so in love with the chipped and worn paint, it's a little alarming. I love the paint so much that words cannot say.
Wow. I'm pretty passionate about a wooden tray, don't you think? I'm in love! You know what else I love? My pretty flowers I received for Valentine's day. My Mister is just the best! I'll bring you up to speed on the wedding as soon as I receive an email from the prospective reception venue. Plans have been up in the air, but I think things are finally coming together! Thank goodness, because planning a wedding is so ridiculously stressful!
Have a great weekend everyone! Do you have any special plans? Do tell!

Haha, you are quite passionate about that wooden tray, but I do have to admit your yarn photos in the tray looked absolutely perfect, so I can understand the obsession. Plus, when paint is chipped in just a certain way, it looks somehow cooler than it would have been if it weren't, so I can understand/identify.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your wedding plans. I helped (a teeny bit) with my best friend's wedding planning, and I can't imagine how stressful it must be. I'm sure you're doing great, though, and remember that no matter what, you'll have a great day, so don't get too bogged down in the little things and just enjoy the whole process!
Dearest Kate, please stop trying to make me jealous. I want to steal your table. Some people I know call the tray an alligator. Uh, I call it a tray. This weekend I'm stuffing my face with girl scout cookies! Have a happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteRoxanne
PS. Can you please move to Colorado so we can hang out?
Love the tray and the table. There is just something so special about little tables... Quiet weekend here, catching up on knitting and chores. I like weekends like this.
ReplyDeleteOh those are fun things to buy, love your pleasure in them - I'm off to check out your giveaway - with all those entries it must be fun too :)
ReplyDeleteI can see why you are passionate about your tray - it is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThose are two great finds! I love the shape of the try and the colours of the table. I need to hit the thrift shops......too much volunteering at school last week and I'll never make it there on the weekend.....back to cooking now:
ReplyDeleteKate, that looks like it came out of a magazine - from a French home! So pretty! I'm feeling pretty normal since my husband took my son to his audition today (4 hour drive) so I could have the day off. I sewed, went to a movie with my kids, b-ball game, some shopping and tonight, lace-knitting and Olympics! A good day! I even got some sewing in this a.m.!
ReplyDeleteAh Kate, true love for an inanimate object is never wrong... I simply admire your taste.
ReplyDeleteWell, I would be pretty damn passionate about that tray too, You need to send your amazing-furniture-fu this way! x
ReplyDeleteHmmm - I don't remember seeing that darling table last week when I was in the antique store?!?!? I love painted furniture and the more banged up, knicked, and chipped it is the better I like it. It has such character and a sense of history. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLove your new little table. Looking forward to a wedding update!
ReplyDeleteI've had a fun weekend so far ... went to a quilt show yesterday with my BFF and spent lots of time working on my shawl for the lace KAL. This morning I'm off to a sock knitting class.
Plans for this weekend were:
ReplyDeleteFriday night: make Osso Bucco
Saturday: get up early, go shopping for ingredients. Make cakes x 2. Hang out with my mister, have a leisurely lunch, do some work (both of us), go early to friends' engagement party (taking cakes), enjoy ourselves enormously, come home not too late
Sunday: get up not too late, do some chores, have lunch with some of my oldest and bestest friends and their spouses (spice?) and babies, come home, do some more work and chores
What actually happened:
Friday night: discover osso bucco has not defrosted in time, go out for dinner
Saturday morning: wake up, discover my mister has a stinking cold, do some chores, worry, worry some more, make him breakfast in bed, run out to buy ingredients. Make osso bucco. Make cake x 1, forgetting to put cocoa powder in what was supposed to be a chocolate cake. Look at frazzled self in mirror and book emergency haircut, make 2nd cake, rush out leaving boyfriend to take it out of oven. Get charged nearly twice too much for haircut due to misunderstanding and extortion, whizz home, ice cake, eat ossoo bucco, take two cakes on bus (very late), have brilliant time at engagement party, come home very very late
Sunday: wake up late, boyfriend even more ill due to excessive fun of previous night, cancel lunch. Spend morning washing up from all the extravaganzas of previous day. Go to pub for lunch as no food in house. Do some work and chores.
And yet after all that, it was one of the best weekends I've had in ages. :)
PS I also love your table! xx
ReplyDeleteNice. I love the table, the tray and your little love poem to both. :)
