Adjusting.

the first night at our new house was a disaster.  the washing machine smelled like mildew, the sheets took a long time to wash and when they finally spun out and i got them in the dryer the dryer wouldnt work.  then we realized that the bed was a full size and all we had were queen.  ugh.

then the next night we went out for dinner, and when we came home the door had been blown open and harold was nowhere to be found.  after an hour and a half in the dark and windy night we finally found him.  its so funny, thats when i cried.  not before, but after we found him.  i was just so relieved to have him home, safe and sound.  after losing harold and then getting him home, everything was put into perspective.

days are spent unpacking now and trying to get life  back to normal.  the wedding is in nine days and everything is falling into place.

Here's our cake topper that we commissioned from Sarah at The Small Object.  We're tickled.  I think I'm going to knit a shawl for mini clothespin Kate, to make it a bit more personal.  Waddya think?
Fifteen days until the nuptials.  Holy shit.

Just what the doctor ordered.

Roasting marshmellows over a raging fire is just what I needed to de.comp.ress.  Moving tomorrow seem much more manigable after taking a break last night and just walking away.

Today- thai food with the maid of honor.  Tonight- a relaxing night in with the girls!

Moving sucks.

My life is in disarray.  I'm moving on Sunday and I still have the bathroom and kitchen to attack.  It seems crazy to think that we have all of this STUFF! when all you need are the bare essentials.

But then I think, yarn really makes me happy.  And my bin of fiber that I'm saving until inspiration strikes. My pots and pans all have their uses, and books are just nice to have around.  We've donated a bunch of stuff to Goodwill, but still there is so much to pack.

Wish me luck- there's still so much to do!

Midnight snack.

IMG_0306
Last night, around midnight, I got a craving for peanut butter.   Not one for resisting temptation, I got all of the supplies needed for a snack in bed- peanut butter, the last roll of Ritz crackers, plate and knife.  I opened the tube of crackers, smeared on a dollop of peanut butter, and shoved the whole cracker in my mouth.

The cracker was stale.  The whole lot of crackers was stale.

I ate an obscene amount of peanut butter, knife to jar to mouth, knife to jar to mouth.
It was amazing.

Breakfast of Champions.

Aren't those colors beautiful?
I slice a beet open every morning, and I'm in awe of its brilliant color.
I'm stuck on my favorite juice- apple, beet, carrot, ginger and lime.
Can you think of any suggestions for new combinations?
Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Blog moving!

Wonderful, supportive friends!

As you all have noticed, I've been neglecting Lazy Kate Creates for a while now.  Yes, I've been busy.  But I'm also just really uninspired by this blog in particular and have felt like I'm lost my (creative) way.  There have been things that I wanted to change, but felt like I couldn't change them in this current space.  I have made the decision to stop writing in this blog- but have no fear!  I'm just moving to another space!  You can find me here:

Thank you all for your continued support!  I've had so much fun with you all- please follow me over to the new space!  Leave me a comment so I know you've found me!

Take care-
Kate

A new blog.

I've been feeling like Lazy Kate Creates has been a bit stagnant for a while now.  I've been creating less, and feeling a bit stifled by the format of what I started.  Here's to new beginnings- closing one door and opening another!  I hope all of you follow me over to this new space and take the time to read along!  I've decided to go without sidebars, but have kept the follower module- it's at the bottom of the page.

The new blog is called "Practise is Perfect" because for me, a lot of the fun in doing anything is the process, not the finished product.  So much of life is spent in trying toward a specific goal- I say screw that.  I just want to enjoy everything for what it is, without working toward an end.  The means is enough.
